Are you struggling to achieve organic engagement with your followers through social media? Do you have a hard time figuring out what you should post. It’s okay to switch up your social media posts and experiment. I looked through my own Instagram profile and found types of posts that consecutively performed well aside from my standard daily posts. Here are 5 photos to increase your social media engagement.
BTS: Behind The Scenes
The Behind The Scenes shot, widely known as BTS is a wonderful way to share some knowledge about your brand. Your followers may be curious about what goes on behind the scenes within making your product, working at the office or showing your process. This allows your audience to get a glimpse into your world and also learn something new. A BTS shot can also give you an opportunity to share a tip or trick with your audience.
A Personal Shot
Adding in a Personal Shot and sharing part of your own personal story can create a new connection with your audience. You probably have followers that are looking to get to know the face behind the business and it's important to share part of your story with your followers. I recently shared some self portraits that have had an incredible amount of engagement. This engagement has brought me new followers, business opportunities and prospective clients.
In my last post I stated that I wanted to show more bodies within my work, to help people become more comfortable with the different and beautiful bodies on this planet. Posting that photo made realize that if I talk the talk I’ll have to walk the walk! So I thought I would share my own. Since the photos from the #WeAreBigAndTall project I was recently a part of released, I’ve received a lot of messages from men who said that the project inspired them and made them feel more comfortable about sharing and loving their own bodies. To continue to do the work I’ve been doing, I really felt I had to be a bit vulnerable and share a little more of myself. Today I took off my shirt, showed a bit more of myself and took some self portraits. I have a few more portraits that I will share over the next few days but I wanted to share this one first. It’s showing a little skin and some body positivity. Thank you for reading!
The Action Shot
If you have a product then this can be a great way to show your product or service in action. If you can’t communicate this within 1 image, consider using a moving image: a video, animation, cinema graph or stop motion. I love to use videos to show how models move in front of the camera and video is just another aspect that I'm building onto my business!
New video I put together from my shoot with @denkadenk @curve.newyork @wilhelminamodels #beauty by @amandathesenbeauty 🎬 I’m really enjoying exploring video with some of my shoots and my own YouTube channel I’m building! It’s fun to learn something new and keep up with what’s in the digital age! Would you like to see me post more videos like this?? MUSIC: Stjepan Major by Peglica I Komandos via Free Music Archive
Spotlight a Client, Fan or Team Member
Depending on the size of your company and brand, you can use posts to spotlight a team member - tell your audience what they do for the business and share a part of their own personal story.
WOMAN CRUSH WEDNESDAY goes out to @krisyeo who has been such an amazing friend to me over the last 3 years since we met! One of the favorite shots I’ve taken of Kris to date! Our friendship is special and unique and we met at a time when both of us decided to take charge of our lives and careers and make the move we had been dreaming of for years. We did it, Nuggy!! Thank you for showing and helping me become more comfortable in my own body at any size and helping me own myself in front of the camera too! I wouldn’t of thought to participate in #WeAreBigAndTall without Kristina who told me I should step in front of the camera sometime! So thanks for the fun and friendship I love yoooou! Also this is my jacket that I’m wearing in the photo to your right. Makeup by @sararobeymakeup
Some of the most eye-catching photos are detail oriented. Whether it’s a still-life image featuring your product or a styled vignette of your favorite things. Think about who your target audience is and things that they may visually like that you can add to the shot to spark interest. Some styling staples that have been popular on social are: fresh flowers, crystals, ribbon and jewelry however there is no limit to what you can add to your detail shots.
Oh don’t mind me just casually charging my crystals and saging my iPhone... that’s how it’s supposed to go right? 🤣🤩💎🔮📿 But let’s be real here - I need a good chain or necklace to rock my stones on - anyone got any ideas, the current chains I have I think just don’t look good on me. I wear Indian Agate and Black Tourmaline on the regular to help repel negative energy and provide protection! What stones do you like to wear??
